Glad-Mar Dairy was established in 1949 by Marion &
Gladys Holland. In 1967 a flush system freestall housing was constructed and is
now one of the oldest active flush systems in the US. Our herd has averaged between
150 and 230 milking animals per year and are currently averaging 21,000# of milk.
We are on a nutrient management plan through which 150 acres are continuously
rotated with corn silage and 6 months of winter rye, which is grazed by dry cows
and heifers and is fertilized by separate manure and water irrigation systems.
Currently, Ken & Dan Holland actively run the dairy operation and raise crops
for the cows. Another of Marion’s sons, Wayne, operates a grain farming enterprise.
